Grania Uaile (in English, Grace O'Malley) was a powerful Sea
Captain in the time of Queen Elisabeth I. She raided both the
Queen's subjects and Irish rebels when it suited her. She was
married to Chieftain O'Flaherty and later to Richard in Iron
(Burke) the Earl of Ormond.
